Amplifying Global Cooperation for Shared Development: USC at the United Nations General Assembly 2025

Engaging in Global Dialogue and Collaborative Action

Each September, world leaders gather at the United Nations Headquarters in New York for the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). The United Society Council (USC) organizes a delegation to participate in the High-Level Weeks and related side events. Our presence at this important international forum aims to foster constructive dialogue, promote mutual understanding, and contribute to global development efforts in line with the principles of the United Nations Charter.

The USC delegation includes selected members to engage in discussions with policymakers, international organizations, and civil society representatives. Our participation is designed to facilitate learning, exchange ideas, and explore collaborative opportunities that align with the goals of peace, development, and win-win cooperation.

Our Approach

Our engagement is structured to maximize meaningful participation through three key components:

Focused Learning Sessions
  • Attendance at key UNGA sessions and expert-led briefings to deepen understanding of global issues.
  • Discussions on policy frameworks that support sustainable development and international cooperation.
Constructive Networking Opportunities
  • Facilitated meetings with like-minded stakeholders to explore partnerships and shared objectives.
  • Themed gatherings to promote dialogue on common challenges and solutions.
Practical Workshops
  • Internal sessions to reflect on insights gained and identify actionable steps for post-UNGA initiatives.
  • Development of collaborative strategies to advance shared goals in a manner consistent with international norms.

This Year’s Focus: Promoting Global Development and Cooperation

In a world facing complex challenges, our participation at UNGA will emphasize the importance of unity, dialogue, and practical cooperation to achieve common prosperity. Our programming will center on the following themes:

  • Advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
Exploring pathways to achieve the SDGs, with a focus on poverty reduction, education, and environmental protection, in line with the principles of equitable and sustainable development.
  • Strengthening International Cooperation for Peace:
Discussing how multilateralism can contribute to conflict prevention, stability, and mutual understanding among nations.
  • Promoting Equitable Development and Innovation:
Highlighting inclusive economic models and technological advancements that benefit all societies, reducing disparities and fostering shared growth.
  • Supporting Human Rights and Social Progress:
Advocating for social development, gender equality, and the well-being of all people, in accordance with the universally recognized principles of the United Nations.
